ARCHIVE VIDEO: Makam Theory & Practice with Peter Salvucci
When: Sunday, February 06, 2022 @ 3pm ET
Where: Livestream from the Asheville Rhythm Studio
Details: This workshop for melody instrumentalists and vocalists is designed to introduce attendees to the key principles of Turkish makam theory necessary for understanding the logic of Turkish melodies and reading modern Turkish music notation.
Bring a melody instrument that you are proficient in playing. Fretless instruments are better for this style of playing because of microtonal scales. Examples of instruments that would work well for this workshop are: voice, various horns and woodwinds, oud, çumbus, saz, violin, cello, keys, etc
